CENSUS 2011
- Census, being held in Australia on Tuesday 9 Aug 2011 is critical
for the Sikh community.
- It is estimated that there are over 100,000 Sikhs in Australia and
even more who speak Punjabi - however, according to 2006 Census, only
25% of Sikhs and Punjabi speaking population of Australia was counted.
- YOUR HELP is needed to rectify this discrepancy. This undercount means
that the Sikh community in Australia, through local Councils, State
& Federal governments and other organisations DOES NOT get its share
of services, including those for the Sikh elderly, Sikh students and
families.
- Sikh Council of Australia is campaigning to get the right information
to all members of the Sikh community - your help is needed in passing
this information to all Australian Sikhs - families, students, visitors
- EVERY ONE MUST BE COUNTED!

Council on FaceBook (link provided below).
